Admit it, art is one of those things we would all love to be good at, having the ability to pick up a pencil and just create something other than a stick man is a skill we would all like. But even if you’re not that good at it, we Office Monsters still think it’s important to at least give it ago and try unleash your creative side. Here’s why:

1. For one, scientifically, it can relieve stress

We all have stress in our lives, and we all have different ways of coping with it, some just get on with it, others try to ignore it but we Office Monsters think that coloring in is a great tactic to use because art has actually been scientifically proven to be the perfect stress reliever.

When you’re coloring in or doing your art of choice, it allows your mind to collect itself and stay calm. You aren’t thinking about your next due date or work, or any thing else that might stress you out. Instead you are too focused on making something beautiful.

2. Art is a relatively inexpensive hobby

I know it may not seem that way, but I promise it is. If you’re looking for this to simply be a hobby, you don’t need to spend hundreds of pounds, you can get a good quality pack of pencils and a pad all for under £30.

An added plus, if it’s photography that you want to try, most of us out there already have phones with cameras built in.

3. The progression made can bring you a real sense of achievement

Like a sport, if you practice art, you’ll gradually get better and better at it and this can bring a large sense of achievement. Which is why we think art is the perfect hobby. Sitting down with a hot cup of tea and the end of a long day, and practicing your art skills is a good productive way to rewind.
